Why GCC leaders need a different kind of development
GCCs in India now own products, platforms and global functions, not just delivery. Their leaders must influence senior stakeholders they rarely meet in person, make trade-offs for global businesses and win mandates in competition with other locations.
Many of these leaders grew up in execution roles. A GCC leadership development program helps them shift from 'extension of HQ' to 'partner of HQ', and builds a bench so the centre is not dependent on a handful of people.
The Zinnov-nasscom India GCC Landscape Report counts 2,117 GCCs in India employing about 2.36 million people in FY2026.

An offsite-style program for the centre's leadership team to align on vision, operating model and priorities.
How we measure impact
The ADDIE evaluation plan is agreed with the GCC leadership and HR at the start. We run a baseline leadership assessment and 360° feedback on AssessAll, then repeat it after six months to measure behaviour change. Sponsors rate the capstone projects on business value. We also review 30, 60 and 90 day application check-ins and agreed indicators such as new mandates won, internal promotions into leadership roles and regretted attrition.
Pair this program with AssessAll, Bodhih’s AI assessment platform, for pre- and post-program skill measurement.
Frequently asked questions
What skills do GCC leaders need?
GCC leaders need enterprise thinking, the ability to influence senior global stakeholders, strong cross-cultural team leadership, executive communication and a bias for innovation. They also need to develop leaders beneath them. Technical and delivery excellence remain important, but they are no longer enough to win global mandates and move the centre up the value chain.
How can GCCs build a leadership pipeline?
Define what leadership potential means for your centre, assess people fairly, and give nominated leaders stretch roles, coaching and visibility with global leaders. A structured program with action learning projects accelerates this. Track internal promotions and readiness so the pipeline is measured, not assumed.
How do India-based leaders influence global headquarters?
Influence comes from credibility, understanding HQ priorities and communicating in a concise, outcome-first way. Leaders should map stakeholders, build trust through reliable delivery and proactive ideas, and present proposals with clear business value. The program includes simulations with tough global stakeholders so leaders practise these conversations.
Is this program only for large GCCs?
No. We work with centres at every stage, from new set-ups with a few hundred people to mature centres with global ownership. The content and duration are customised to your centre's maturity, parent organisation and the leadership challenges you face now, after a short needs analysis with your leadership and HR teams.
How long is the GCC leadership development program?
Our recommended design runs over four to six months with four one-day modules, coaching between modules and a business project with a capstone presentation. A condensed version can run over two to three days for leadership teams. The final design follows a needs analysis with your leadership and HR teams.
Can global team members join the program?
Yes. Many clients include colleagues from the US, UK, Europe or APAC through live virtual sessions, which makes the cross-cultural discussion richer. We schedule virtual sessions to suit overlapping time zones and can deliver in person in India and across our delivery regions.
How is the impact of the program measured?
We measure behaviour change with pre and post 360° feedback and leadership assessments, rate capstone projects on business value and review 30, 60 and 90 day follow-ups. With your agreement, we also track indicators such as internal promotions, mandates won and retention of high performers.
