Sample training plan: 3-day hands-on design
This three-day lab moves analysts from Excel-based reporting to Power BI reports that are accurate, fast and easy to maintain. Participants build one report from the first hour and improve it module by module: they clean messy sales exports in Power Query, model a star schema with a proper date table, write DAX measures for ratios and time intelligence, and design pages for a specific audience. They publish with row-level security and finish by presenting insights from a capstone report to a mock leadership panel.

What is Power BI training?

How long does it take to learn Power BI?

Do I need to know Excel before learning Power BI?

Yes, in a different form, since managers who consume reports benefit most from a short session on navigating dashboards, reading visuals and asking good questions. Those who build reports need the full program. We often run both, so builders and consumers share a common language.
Is the Power BI training certified by Microsoft?

Can the Power BI training use our own data?
Yes, where your data policies allow. We usually work with anonymised or masked extracts of your real reports, so participants rebuild something they recognise. If live data cannot leave your systems, we create realistic synthetic datasets that mirror your structure, such as sales territories, plant lines or loan products, and cover safe sharing rules for reports.
