Why time management alone no longer works
Most people already know how to use a calendar. The problem is that the calendar fills with ad hoc calls, the chat never stops, and meetings creep past 8 pm to catch another time zone. You can have an empty hour and no energy left to use it well.
Indian employers are starting to respond with meeting limits, meeting-free time and break protocols in their 2026 wellness plans. Energy management for productivity gives individuals and teams the skills to use those changes well and to build their own rhythms of focus and recovery.
Microsoft telemetry shows employees are interrupted every 2 minutes by meetings, emails or notifications during core hours.
Meetings after 8 pm rose 16% year on year in the same Microsoft analysis.

Sample training plan: 1-day hands-on design
This one-day workshop treats energy, not hours, as the scarce resource. Participants arrive with their own calendar from the last fortnight and a three-day energy log. They find their peak, steady and low windows, rebuild next week around them, run a meeting triage on their real recurring invites, test focus-block rules and design a shutdown ritual. Teams finish by agreeing a meeting and after-hours charter, and every person leaves with two small experiments to run for two weeks.
Participants can map their energy, rebuild a real week around it, cut meeting drain and leave with two personal experiments and a team charter.

Recommended: 1 day in person (09:30–17:30), or 3 × 2.5-hour live virtual sessions, followed by two-week personal experiments and 30-, 60- and 90-day check-ins. A sample design: every Bodhih program is customised after a short needs analysis.
How long is energy management for productivity training?
The recommended design is one day in person, from 09:30 to 17:30, followed by two weeks of personal experiments and check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days. It also runs as three live virtual sessions of 2.5 hours each, a week apart, so participants can test habits between sessions.
What activities are included in energy management training?
Participants work on their own calendars all day. They plot a personal energy curve from a three-day log, rebuild next week around peak windows, feel the cost of interruptions in a ping-storm simulation, triage their recurring meetings, design a shutdown ritual and agree a team energy charter.
How we deliver it
Data from your own calendar
Participants analyse their real calendars and energy logs, so energy management for productivity becomes personal and specific rather than generic advice.
Experiments, not rules
Each person chooses two small experiments to test for two weeks, then reviews what worked and adjusts.
Team-level change
Teams agree shared norms on meetings, focus time and after-hours messages, because individual habits struggle against team culture.
Designed with ADDIE
We analyse your meeting culture, tools and working patterns first, so examples and team norms fit how your organisation actually works.
Tailored versions
For managers and leaders
Adds how to model energy-aware habits, redesign team meeting rhythms and avoid sending late-night messages that set expectations.
For engineering and product teams
Focus on maker schedules, protecting deep work, on-call rotations and sprint rhythms.
For global and GCC teams
Deeper work on time-zone overlap, rotating late calls fairly and recovering after early or late meetings.
How we measure impact
We build evaluation into the ADDIE design. Participants complete a pre and post self-rating on energy, focus and recovery, and a simple calendar snapshot shows focus time and meeting hours before and after. At 30, 60 and 90 days, short check-ins review each person's experiments and team norms. Where teams agree, HR can track changes in meeting load, after-hours activity and wellbeing pulse scores, reported in aggregate.
Pair this program with AssessAll, Bodhih’s AI assessment platform, for pre- and post-program skill measurement.
Frequently asked questions
What is energy management at work?
Energy management is the practice of managing your physical, emotional and mental energy so you can do your best work consistently. It recognises that hours are fixed but energy can be renewed. In practice it means scheduling demanding work in peak periods, protecting focus time, reducing draining meetings and building recovery into the day.
Is managing energy better than managing time?
They work best together. Time management helps you plan and prioritise, while energy management makes sure you have the capacity to act on those plans. Many people already have time management skills but still feel exhausted, which is where an energy lens helps. This workshop is designed as a follow-on to time management training.
How do you protect deep work time?
Block focus time in your calendar during your peak hours, turn off notifications, set a clear status and agree with your team how urgent requests should reach you. Start with one or two blocks a week and build up. Team-level agreements on meeting-free time make it much easier to protect deep work consistently.
How can teams reduce meeting overload?
Review recurring meetings and cancel or shorten those without a clear purpose, convert status updates to async written notes, set default meeting lengths shorter and agree meeting-free blocks. Rotate inconvenient time-zone slots fairly. The workshop helps teams audit their meetings and agree practical norms they can try immediately.
Is this a wellness or productivity program?
It is both. Energy management improves productivity by making sure your best hours go to your most important work, and it supports wellbeing by building in recovery and reducing overload. That is why organisations often include it in wellbeing weeks as well as in productivity or leadership development pathways.
Does the program cover physical health?
It covers everyday habits that affect energy at work, such as breaks, movement, hydration, sleep routines and screen use. It does not give medical, dietary or clinical advice. Participants with health concerns are encouraged to speak with a qualified professional, and the workshop can sit alongside your wider wellbeing offering.
How is this different from stress management training?
Stress management training focuses on recognising and coping with pressure once it builds. Energy management for productivity is more proactive: it redesigns how you plan the day, where your focus goes and how you recover, so less stress builds up in the first place. The two complement each other well, and some organisations run them back to back.
How is the workshop delivered?
Bodhih delivers the workshop in person, with trainers travelling from Bengaluru across India, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, or as live virtual sessions spread over a few weeks, which lets participants test experiments between sessions. With more than 18,000 programs facilitated since 2008, we adapt format and timing to your teams' schedules.
