Why operations results depend on how operations are led
Most operations managers rose through the floor. They know the process, the machines and the exceptions better than anyone. What they rarely get is help with the leadership side: building a rhythm that runs without them, growing supervisors who solve problems, and explaining trade-offs to finance and sales without losing the room.
In 2026, operations teams face tighter cost targets, faster customer promises and new automation landing on the floor all at once. Operations leadership training focuses on the human system around the process, because tools only stick when supervisors and teams know how to use them every shift.
63% of employers see skill gaps as the main barrier to business transformation over 2025–2030.
Gallup estimates low engagement cost the world economy about $10 trillion in lost productivity in 2025.
What participants will be able to do
Build the operating rhythm
Translate monthly targets into daily and weekly routines, with clear owners for each meeting, review and handover.
Read the dashboard for action
Use a short operations dashboard to spot trends, separate noise from signal and decide where to intervene.
Plan capacity and workload
Match people, shifts and equipment to demand and make the case early when capacity will fall short.
Run huddles that solve problems
Lead ten-minute performance huddles that surface issues, assign owners and close loops the next day.
Develop supervisors
Coach supervisors to own problems and decisions instead of escalating everything upward.
Lead change on the floor
Introduce new processes, automation or targets with clear reasons, early involvement and visible follow-through.

Sample training plan: 2-day hands-on design
This two-day design wraps a running operations simulation around the leadership work of an operations manager. Day 1 rebuilds participants' operating rhythm and dashboard, then tests capacity decisions as demand swings and people go absent. Day 2 drills ten-minute huddles and root-cause problem solving, coaches a supervisor who escalates everything, settles a cost and quality trade-off with finance and sales, and plans a change on the floor. Participants leave with a rhythm, huddle format and 90-day floor plan.
Participants can design an operating rhythm, read a dashboard for action and make capacity decisions under pressure.

Recommended: 2 days in person (09:30–17:30 each day), or 5 × 3-hour live virtual sessions, plus a 90-day floor application plan. A sample design: every Bodhih program is customised after a short needs analysis.
How long is operations leadership training?
Plan for two full days on site or in a training room, or five three-hour live virtual sessions, then a 90-day floor application plan with reporting manager check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days.
What activities are included in operations leadership training?
Participants redesign their operating rhythm and dashboard, lead teams through a running operations simulation with demand swings and absences, present a capacity case, run ten-minute huddles, solve a recurring warehouse problem at the root, coach an escalating supervisor and plan a change on the floor.
How we deliver it
Floor-based simulation
A two-day operations simulation runs through the program, with demand swings, absences and quality issues that participants must lead through.
Own dashboards and rhythms
Participants bring their real reviews, dashboards and huddle formats and redesign them during the sessions.
Supervisor voices
Role-plays use supervisors' real objections, gathered in a short pre-program survey, so coaching practice feels familiar.
Plant and site visits
For in-house programs, the facilitator can observe a huddle and review on site and use what they see in the program.
Tailored versions
For manufacturing and plant operations
Cases cover shift handovers, line performance, changeovers, quality escapes and managing supervisors with mixed experience.
For logistics and fulfilment
Cases cover peak season, same-day promises, warehouse productivity and coordinating with transport partners and sellers.
For shared services and service delivery
Cases cover service levels, backlogs, queue management, automation of routine work and managing team leads across shifts and sites.
How we measure impact
Bodhih evaluates through the ADDIE model. Participants complete an AssessAll pre-assessment on performance management, problem solving and time and priority judgement, and a post-assessment at day 90. Reporting managers hold check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days, and we review the redesigned operating rhythm, huddle quality and agreed operations indicators, such as on-time delivery or backlog, with your operations leadership training sponsor.
Pair this program with AssessAll, Bodhih’s AI assessment platform, for pre- and post-program skill measurement.
Frequently asked questions
What is operations leadership training?
Operations leadership training develops managers who run operations to lead the people and rhythm around the process. It covers turning targets into daily routines, reading dashboards, capacity planning, running huddles, root-cause problem solving, coaching supervisors, making cost and quality trade-offs and driving change on the floor. It is leadership of operations, not a process tools course.
What makes a good operations leader?
A good operations leader builds a rhythm that runs without them, develops supervisors who solve problems at the source, reads data calmly before reacting and makes trade-offs visible to other functions. They spend more time on the floor coaching than in the office reporting, and they introduce change with reasons and involvement rather than instructions.
How do operations managers run effective huddles?
Keep huddles short, standing and at the same time each shift. Look at a few visible measures, discuss yesterday's issues, agree today's priorities and assign owners with dates. Close loops from previous huddles before raising new items. The program has participants lead live huddles in a simulation and redesign their own format.
How do you balance cost and quality in operations?
Start by making the trade-off explicit and agreeing which matters more for each product or customer. Track the hidden costs of poor quality, such as rework and returns, alongside direct costs. Involve finance and sales in the decision. Operations leaders then explain the call to their teams so it is applied consistently.
What is the difference between operations management and operations leadership?
Operations management is about planning and controlling the process: schedules, capacity, inventory and quality. Operations leadership is about the people who run it: building routines they own, developing supervisors, solving problems together and driving change. Both matter, and this program focuses on the second while using the language of the first.
How long is operations leadership training?
Plan for two days in the training room, or five three-hour live virtual sessions spread over two to three weeks. A 90-day floor application plan with manager check-ins follows. Bodhih customises the simulation and cases to manufacturing, logistics, shared services or retail operations after a short needs analysis with your operations and HR leaders.
Can the program run at our plant or site?
Yes. Many operations programs run at the client's site so the facilitator can observe huddles and reviews and use real examples. Master trainers travel from Bengaluru to sites across India, the Middle East and other regions. Bodhih has supported more than 2,000 companies since 2008 with in-person and live virtual delivery.
