Why Saudi managers need leadership skills that keep pace with growth
Large national development projects, new tourism and entertainment ventures, and fast-growing banks and retailers keep opening management roles. Many new managers are young Saudi professionals leading colleagues who are older than them or come from a dozen countries.
Expatriate managers, in turn, need to lead in ways that respect local culture and build national talent rather than simply deliver. Leadership training in Saudi Arabia works well when it treats both groups as one leadership team with shared habits.
Leadership and social influence rose 22 percentage points as a core skill since 2023.
63% of employers see skill gaps as the main barrier to business transformation over 2025–2030.
Leading in the Kingdom: what we design for
Riyadh's head offices, banks and government-linked enterprises, including those around the King Abdullah Financial District, need managers who can handle senior stakeholders and fast-changing priorities. Jeddah's retail, logistics and consumer businesses lead large, diverse frontline teams along the Red Sea coast.
In the Eastern Province, energy, petrochemical and industrial companies in Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail lead engineers, technicians and project crews from many nationalities. We plan sessions around the Friday–Saturday weekend, prayer times and Ramadan working hours, and keep the content on business leadership.

In person at your office in Riyadh, Jeddah or the Eastern Province, or a venue you choose, or live virtual. Bodhih has no office in Saudi Arabia: our facilitators travel from Bengaluru. Sessions run in English, and an Arabic-speaking co-facilitator can join where your organisation arranges one.

- A 90-day leadership plan
Sample training plan: 2-day hands-on design
This two-day design treats Saudi and expatriate managers as one leadership team. Delivered in English, with an Arabic-speaking co-facilitator where the client arranges one, it starts by mapping the cultural mix in each team and practising meetings where every voice is heard. Young national managers rehearse leading older colleagues, and everyone designs a stretch assignment for a team member. Day two covers leading change, feedback that keeps dignity and a simulated site visit by a government-linked client, ending with a 90-day plan.
Participants can read the cultural mix in their team, run inclusive meetings, lead experienced colleagues and design stretch work for young national managers.

How long is leadership training in Saudi Arabia?
The recommended design is two days in person in Riyadh, Jeddah or the Eastern Province, from 09:00 to 17:00 with a lunch and prayer break, followed by a 90-day follow-up. It also runs as four live virtual sessions of three hours, and hours are shortened during Ramadan.
What activities are included in leadership training in Saudi Arabia?
Participants map the cultural mix in their team, chair inclusive meetings, rehearse leading older colleagues, design stretch work for young national managers, plan a change message, practise feedback that keeps dignity and host a simulated site visit by a government-linked client before building a 90-day plan.
How we deliver it
Needs analysis with your leaders
We meet your HR and business leaders, understand the team mix and growth plans, and use the ADDIE model to adapt cases, language level and examples.
Culturally aware cases
Scenarios reflect real Saudi workplaces, such as a project review with a government-linked client or a young Saudi supervisor leading senior expatriate technicians.
Plain English, at the right pace
Plain language, visual tools and paired practice help participants for whom English is a second language take part fully.
A schedule that respects the week
We plan around prayer times, the Friday–Saturday weekend and Ramadan hours, and offer live virtual follow-up clinics across sites.
Tailored versions
For energy, petrochemical and construction projects
Focus on site and project leadership, multinational crews, decisions under schedule pressure and client stakeholder meetings.
For banking, retail and logistics
Focus on branch and store leadership, coaching frontline teams, customer-facing standards and leading through rapid expansion.
For new tourism and entertainment ventures
Focus on building teams from scratch, developing first-time Saudi managers and setting a strong service culture early.
How we measure impact
We plan the ADDIE Evaluate stage at the start. Participants take an AssessAll pre-assessment, such as Cross-Cultural & Inclusive Leadership or the First-Time Manager Readiness Assessment, and a matching post-assessment at day 90. Reporting managers hold short check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days to review each action plan, and we track agreed indicators, such as team engagement pulse results or the readiness of national managers for larger roles.
Pair this program with AssessAll, Bodhih’s AI assessment platform, for pre- and post-program skill measurement.
Frequently asked questions
What does leadership training in Saudi Arabia cover?
It covers leading multinational and mixed Saudi-expatriate teams, developing young national managers, leading through change, decision-making, feedback, coaching and managing senior and government-linked stakeholders. Bodhih customises the cases and depth after a needs analysis, so an energy project team and a retail chain work on different scenarios.
Is the leadership training delivered in Arabic?
Bodhih delivers the program in English, using plain language and visual tools suited to mixed-language groups. Where your organisation arranges an Arabic-speaking co-facilitator, we design the sessions together so key ideas and discussions can also run in Arabic. We do not claim Arabic-speaking trainers of our own.
Do you have an office in Riyadh?
No. Bodhih is headquartered in Bengaluru, India, and has no office in Saudi Arabia. Our facilitators travel from Bengaluru to run sessions at your office in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar or Jubail, or at a venue you choose. We also run the program live virtual for teams across sites.
Can the program help young Saudi managers?
Yes. Many participants are young Saudi professionals in their first leadership role, sometimes leading older or more experienced colleagues. The program gives them practical tools for delegation, coaching, decisions and feedback, with practice in realistic scenarios, so they build confidence and credibility with their teams quickly.
How is the training scheduled around the working week?
We plan sessions around the Friday–Saturday weekend and prayer times, and adjust hours during Ramadan. A common design is two in-person days or four live virtual sessions of three hours each. We agree the timetable with you, so attendance and energy stay high across the program.
Is this suitable for expatriate managers new to Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Expatriate managers learn to lead with respect for local culture, build trust with Saudi colleagues and clients, and treat developing national talent as part of their role. Mixed cohorts of Saudi and expatriate managers often work well, because they solve real team problems together.
How is the impact of the leadership training measured?
Participants take AssessAll pre- and post-assessments, their reporting managers hold check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days, and we review two or three indicators you choose. This follows the Evaluate stage of the ADDIE model, which Bodhih has used to design programs since 2008.
