Inclusive Leadership Training for People Managers

Diversity gets people into the room. What happens next depends on the manager: who gets the high-profile project, whose idea is heard in the meeting, how a dispute gets settled. Our inclusive leadership training turns good intentions into fair, everyday leadership habits.

Inclusion is decided in daily moments, by managers

Indian teams in 2026 are more mixed than ever: more women returning to work, four generations, people with disabilities, colleagues across cities, countries and home offices. Policies set the direction, yet employees feel included or excluded through a manager's small daily choices.

Awareness training alone rarely changes those choices. Inclusive leadership training focuses on the behaviour side: how work is assigned, how meetings run, how feedback is given and how conflict is handled, with practice until it becomes habit.

Catalyst reports 88% of employees are highly engaged when their team has strong inclusive norms, but only 31% report such teams.

In the 2026 Edelman Trust Barometer, 42% of employees would rather switch departments than report to a manager with different values.

How we deliver it

Behaviour first

Every module ends with a specific behaviour that managers practise with their own teams, rather than only discussing concepts.

Context-sensitive cases

Cases reflect Indian and regional realities such as language, hierarchy, gender, regional diversity and cross-border teams, handled respectfully.

Safe space for honest reflection

Facilitators create ground rules so managers can explore their own blind spots without blame.

Team pulse loop

Short team pulses before and after let managers see how their behaviours land with the people they lead.

06

Tailored versions

For senior leadership teams

A half-day format on role-modelling inclusion, sponsorship of diverse talent and inclusive decision-making at the top table.

For operations and plant leaders

Focuses on mixed-gender shop floors, contract and permanent workers, language diversity and fair shift allocation.

For global and GCC teams

Adds cross-cultural communication, time-zone equity and inclusion across onsite and offshore team members.

07

How we measure impact

We follow the Evaluate stage of the ADDIE model. Managers complete a pre and post assessment of inclusive leadership behaviours on AssessAll, Bodhih's AI assessment platform, with an optional 360° feedback from team members and peers. A short team pulse on voice, fairness and belonging runs before and after the 60-day practice. Reporting managers hold 30, 60 and 90-day check-ins, and with HR we review agreed indicators such as engagement items or internal mobility.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is inclusive leadership?

Inclusive leadership is a set of everyday behaviours that make every team member feel respected, heard and able to contribute and grow. It shows in how a manager assigns work, runs meetings, gives feedback, resolves conflict and responds to mistakes. Inclusive leadership training turns these behaviours into practical habits managers can use with their teams.

What are the traits of an inclusive leader?

Research commonly highlights commitment, courage, awareness of bias, curiosity, cultural intelligence and collaboration. In practice, inclusive leaders invite different views, share opportunities fairly, admit mistakes and challenge exclusion when they see it. The program helps managers assess themselves against these traits and choose specific behaviours to improve.

How do managers delegate fairly?

Look at the pattern, not just the single decision. Track who receives high-visibility, stretch and routine tasks over a few months and ask whether the split reflects skill, development needs and interest. Rotate opportunities and explain choices openly. Participants use an allocation audit on their own team during the training.

How do you run an inclusive meeting?

Share an agenda and pre-read so everyone can prepare, start with remote or quieter voices, use round-robins or written input for key questions and name a facilitator who manages interruptions. Summarise decisions and owners in writing. Managers practise these techniques in a live, mixed-seniority meeting simulation.

How is inclusive leadership different from diversity training?

Diversity and unconscious bias training usually builds awareness and explains policy. Inclusive leadership training is about what managers actually do: delegation, meetings, feedback and conflict. It assumes some awareness and moves quickly to practice. A common pattern is bias awareness for everyone and inclusive leadership for people managers.

Does this training cover POSH or legal compliance?

It covers how managers respond respectfully to concerns and when to involve HR or the Internal Committee, but it is not POSH compliance training or legal advice. We run separate POSH and Internal Committee programs. Your HR and legal teams remain the authority on policy and law.

Can the program be adapted for teams in the Middle East or Southeast Asia?

Yes. Our cohorts run in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Far East Asia as well as India, South Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Africa. We adapt cases to local cultures, nationalities and workplace norms. Master trainers travel from Bengaluru for in-person sessions, or we run live virtual cohorts across time zones.
