Valentino Rossi is a Italian professional motorcycle racer and multiple Moto GP World Champion. He is one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time, with nine Grand Prix World Championships to his name. Valentino started racing in Grand Prix in 1996 for Aprilia in the 125cc category and won his first World Championship the following year. From there, he moved up to the 250cc category with Aprilia and won the 250cc World Championship in 1999.
In 2005, Rossi captured his 7th World Championship and fifth straight MotoGP Championship after winning 11 races including wins in 3 rain-affected races at Shanghai.
The 2009 season called Catalan motorcycle Grand Prix held at the Circuit de Catalunya saw Rossi win six races to win his ninth championship title, beating his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo into second place by 45 points. This was the most dramatic victory of the season where Rossi battled with Lorenzo in the last lap and took the swift lead which was unimaginable and incredible. The positive attitude within Rossi made him bag this remarkable victory and set a mark in the history of Moto Grand Prix. The number of his motorcycle “46” and his nickname “The Doctor” has become a favorite of his fans throughout the globe and are seen on most of the motorcycles and riding gear.
