In 2005, Rossi captured his 7th World Championship and fifth straight MotoGP Championship after winning 11 races including wins in 3 rain-affected races at Shanghai.
The 2009 season called Catalan motorcycle Grand Prix held at the Circuit de Catalunya saw Rossi win six races to win his ninth championship title, beating his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo into second place by 45 points. This was the most dramatic victory of the season where Rossi battled with Lorenzo in the last lap and took the swift lead which was unimaginable and incredible.
