In a recent interview, Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post said “My mother used to say failure is not the opposite of success…”. This sounded rather absurd at the start but when I started to think of my own life, I realized that every time I’ve grown to the next level, it’s been because of that principle. One of the smartest and fastest ways to add more value to your work, your career and your life as a whole is to grow. For me, personally, growth has been the mantra that has always improved the quality of my life. Going back to that sentence, every time I have not succeeded in doing something, looking at it as feedback rather than failure has greatly helped. Asking myself “What skills do I have to develop, what ability should I demonstrate and who do I need to grow into to achieve those goals” has really worked. The best investments that I have made in life are the investments on personal growth. I urge all of you, just take ten percent of what you earn every month and invest it in personal development. You will be amazed at how that ten percent becomes a larger and larger sum of money over time because you would be growing as a person and success is but a natural outcome of growth.
