## Sample training plan: 5-day hands-on design

This five-day lab builds network engineers who can design, configure and fix an enterprise network, not just describe one. Participants trace packets in a capture tool, subnet a growing company's address plan against the clock, build VLANs and trunks, configure static and dynamic routing, harden devices with access lists and run a structured troubleshooting method on broken labs. The capstone asks each pair to build and then repair a three-site network for a fictional logistics company, with faults injected by the facilitator.

### How long is IT networking training?

The recommended program is five days of instructor-led labs, 09:30 to 17:30, with a lab environment for every participant. It also runs as ten live virtual sessions of about three and a half hours on cloud-hosted simulators. Shorter versions can be customised for specific topics.

### What activities are included in IT networking training?

Participants trace packets in a capture tool, design an address plan for a growing retailer, build VLANs, trunks and OSPF in the simulator, harden devices with access lists and fix broken labs. The capstone is a three-site network they build, then repair after faults are injected.

## When to choose this

✓**New network or NOC engineers need a structured foundation**✓**Server, cloud or security staff need to understand networks better**✓**Your team is preparing for associate-level networking certifications**✓**You are refreshing a network and want the team aligned on design basics**

## Frequently asked questions

### What are the basics of computer networking?

The basics include how devices communicate using the OSI and TCP/IP models, how IP addresses and subnets work, how switches forward traffic within a network and how routers connect networks. You also need core services such as DHCP and DNS, and basic security. Bodhih's program covers each of these with hands-on labs.

### Does this networking training help prepare for CCNA?

The program covers many topics found in associate-level networking certifications such as Cisco's CCNA, including IP addressing, switching, routing, wireless, security and automation basics. It helps teams prepare by building practical skills. Bodhih does not deliver the vendor exam itself, and exam-specific practice can be added on request.

### Is subnetting still important to learn?

Yes. Subnetting remains essential for designing networks, configuring cloud virtual networks, writing firewall rules and troubleshooting connectivity. Engineers who understand it make fewer addressing mistakes. The program includes dedicated practice with realistic scenarios, so participants can subnet quickly and accurately rather than relying only on online calculators.

### Do participants get hands-on lab practice in networking training?

Yes. Labs use network simulators or emulators, and can use physical equipment where the client provides it. Participants configure switches and routers, build VLANs, set up routing and troubleshoot faults. For live virtual delivery, labs run on cloud-hosted or locally installed simulators, so every participant can practise individually.

### Who should attend an IT networking course?

It suits network engineers, system integrators, IT support staff moving into networking, and graduate engineers joining operations teams. Cloud and security engineers also benefit, because both fields depend on networking knowledge. Participants should have a basic IT background. Bodhih adjusts the depth to the group after a short needs analysis.

### What is covered in IT networking training?

The program covers networking fundamentals, IP addressing and subnetting, switching and VLANs, static and dynamic routing, network services, wireless and security basics, and methodical troubleshooting, ending with an automation introduction and a capstone. It runs over 5 days with hands-on labs on simulators or real equipment.
