## Why digital confidence is now a frontline skill

The attendance app, the delivery scanner, the leave form, the shared roster and the customer's digital payment: frontline work in India now runs on screens. Yet many capable employees quietly avoid the tools, ask a younger colleague to fill in the form, or fall for a fake OTP call.

Digital skills training for employees closes that gap with patience and practice. Sessions run in plain language, in mixed-language groups, on the phones and apps people actually use, so confidence grows week by week.

## Sample training plan: 1-day hands-on design

This blended design builds digital confidence step by step, phone in hand. On the first half-day, participants set up their phones as work tools, scan a document, send a clear email with an attachment, find the latest file in a shared folder and complete a leave form without errors. A week later they build a simple daily log sheet, join and contribute to a video call, unmask fake links and OTP frauds and use an AI assistant to draft and translate a message, then check it.

85% hands-on practice · 7.5 contact hours · Cohort: 10–16 participants, with one facilitator and one floor support person · In person · Live virtual

### Day 1 (half day): My phone, my files, my forms

Participants can use their phone as a work tool, handle email and shared files and complete digital forms.

1. 09:30–10:00 · The one thing I always ask for help with (Energiser)
2. 10:00–11:00 · Set up your phone for work (Demo & practice)
3. 11:15–12:30 · Email and the right file (Hands-on lab)
4. 12:30–13:30 · Forms without errors (Skill drill)

### Day 2 (half day): Sheets, calls, safety and AI

Participants can keep a simple log sheet, use video calls, avoid digital frauds and use AI assistants sensibly.

1. 09:30–10:00 · What I did this week (Feedback round)
2. 10:00–11:00 · My daily log sheet (Hands-on lab)
3. 11:15–11:45 · Join, speak, share (Skill drill)
4. 11:45–13:00 · Spot the fraud, use the assistant (Hands-on lab)
5. 13:00–13:30 · My four-week practice plan (Action planning)

Recommended: 2 half-days in person (09:30–13:30) a week apart, or 4 × 90-minute live virtual sessions, plus 4 weeks of short practice tasks with buddy check-ins. A sample design: every Bodhih program is customised after a short needs analysis.

### How long is digital skills training for employees?

The recommended design is two half-days in person a week apart, or four live virtual sessions of 90 minutes, followed by four weeks of short practice tasks with buddies and supervisor check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days.

### What activities are included in digital skills training for employees?

Participants set up their phone for work, send an email with a scanned attachment, find the right file in a shared folder, complete practice forms, build a daily log sheet, join a video call, sort fraud messages and use an AI assistant to draft and translate a message.

## How we deliver it

### Low-pressure and hands-on

Every session is device-in-hand, with small steps, facilitator demos and buddies, so nobody is left watching from the back.

### Mixed-language delivery

Facilitators use plain English with local-language support agreed with you, plus visual job aids that reduce the reading load.

### Real apps, real tasks

Practice uses the forms, apps and files employees use at work, or close replicas where systems cannot be shared.

### Spaced practice

Short weekly practice tasks and buddy check-ins for four weeks turn first attempts into everyday habits.

## Tailored versions

### For frontline and field teams

Phone-first sessions on the shop floor, in the branch or at the depot, built around the two or three apps each role needs.

### For back-office and administrative staff

More time on email, shared files, spreadsheets and AI drafting for daily reports and correspondence.

### For digital rollouts

Timed with a new app or system launch, with super-user training so local champions can support colleagues afterwards.

## How we measure impact

Results are tracked through the Evaluate stage of the ADDIE model. Employees take AssessAll pre-assessments in mobile-friendly formats: Digital Competence Assessment for Office, Frontline and Field Roles, Computer & Digital Fundamentals and Everyday AI Judgment at Work. The same assessments return as post-assessments at day 90. Supervisors run 30, 60 and 90 day follow-up check-ins, and we review form error rates, app adoption and help requests with your operations team.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is digital skills training for employees?

It is training that builds the everyday digital skills people need at work: using smartphones and workplace apps, email and shared files, digital forms, simple spreadsheets, video calls, safe digital habits and AI assistants. Bodhih's program is designed for frontline, field and non-IT staff, including people with low confidence or little prior experience.

### What basic digital skills do employees need?

Most roles now need confident use of a smartphone and work apps, email and shared files, online forms, video calls and basic spreadsheets. Just as important are safe habits, such as spotting fake links and protecting passwords, and the judgement to use AI assistants carefully. The pre-assessment shows which skills each group needs most.

### How do you train employees with low digital confidence?

Start small and hands-on, with each person using their own device. Use plain language, local-language support and visual job aids, and pair participants with buddies. Short, spaced sessions with practice tasks in between work better than one long day. Celebrate small wins, such as submitting a first digital form without help.

### Can the training be delivered in Hindi or regional languages?

Yes, the program is designed for mixed-language groups. Facilitators use simple English with local-language support agreed with you, and job aids are visual with minimal text. For large rollouts, materials can be prepared in the main languages your teams use, such as Hindi, Kannada, Tamil or Marathi.

### Does digital skills training include AI tools?

Yes. Employees learn to use an AI assistant to draft a message, summarise a document, translate text or search for an answer. They also learn to check answers, avoid sharing confidential or customer information and know when to ask a person instead. Everything is taught with tools your organisation approves.

### Is this suitable for MSMEs and factories?

Yes. The design works for MSMEs, plants, warehouses and retail chains, where many employees learned their jobs on paper. Sessions can run on the shop floor or in a canteen with phones, and examples use stock logs, attendance apps and supplier messages rather than office jargon. Shift teams can take 60-minute sessions.

### Where do you run digital skills training for employees?

Bodhih runs it across India, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune, at plants, depots, branches and offices. Master trainers also travel to the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and [live virtual](https://bodhih.com/live-virtual-classes/) cohorts suit back-office teams spread across locations. Since 2008 Bodhih has reached 2,00,000+ lives through its programs.
