Many of us have limiting beliefs in atleast one area of our life. While we know that these beliefs hamper the way we live and work, we are not sure about how we can improve our self-confidence.

Self-confidence grows when you stop limiting, self-defeating thoughts, avoid comparing yourself with others and step outside your comfort zone often. Most people hold limiting beliefs in at least one area of life, and these beliefs hamper how they live and work. Repeatedly stretching beyond your comfort zone turns confident behaviour into a habit.

1. Stop thoughts that are limiting and self-defeating.
2. Avoid comparisons. Shift the focus back to yourself and you will see an increase in self – confidence.
3. The more frequently you step outside your comfort zone, the quicker this type of behavior will become a habit. Life outside your comfort zone offers more opportunities and more successes.

## Quick answers

### Why does stepping outside your comfort zone build confidence?

Each time you try something outside your comfort zone, you gather evidence that you can cope with new situations. Doing it often turns the behaviour into a habit, and life outside the comfort zone offers more opportunities and more successes, which in turn strengthen self-confidence.
