## Why bid capability matters now

Public procurement in India has moved online at scale, and private buyers increasingly run formal RFPs for anything significant. More opportunities are visible to more competitors, so evaluators see stacks of similar responses and reward the ones that are compliant, clear and specific.

AI can now draft a first response in minutes, which raises the bar rather than lowering it. Bid and tender management training helps teams use that speed wisely, focusing human effort on strategy, win themes and accuracy.

## Sample training plan: 2-day hands-on design

This two-day program helps bid teams choose the right tenders, run each response like a project and write answers evaluators can score. Participants bring a live or recent tender and work on it throughout. They hunt hidden requirements in a mock RFP, score real tenders for bid or no-bid, build a compliance matrix and bid plan, develop win themes, rewrite a past answer, draft with AI and verify every fact. The capstone is a red-team review of their executive summary followed by a mock orals presentation.

78% hands-on practice · 13.5 contact hours · Cohort: 10–18 participants, ideally in bid-team groups · In person · Live virtual

### Day 1: Choose well and run the bid like a project

### Day 2: Write to win and learn from every result

Recommended: 2 days in person (09:30–17:30), or 5 × 2.5-hour live virtual sessions with a live-bid workshop, built on your real tenders, plus a 90-day bid review. A sample design: every Bodhih program is customised after a short needs analysis.

### How long is bid and tender management training?

The recommended design is two days in person, from 09:30 to 17:30, working on real tenders, followed by a 90-day bid review. It also runs as five live virtual sessions of two and a half hours each with a live-bid workshop. A one-day version covers the essentials.

### What activities are included in bid and tender management training?

Participants hunt hidden requirements in a mock RFP, score three real tenders for bid or no-bid, build a compliance matrix, run a bid kick-off with role cards, develop win themes, rewrite a past answer, edit an AI draft and finish with a red-team review and mock orals before an evaluation panel.

## How we deliver it

### Your live and past tenders

Participants work on real tenders, past responses and evaluation feedback, so improvements apply directly to upcoming bids.

### ADDIE-led customisation

We analyse your bid volumes, win rates, sectors and review process before designing templates, checklists and cases.

### Cross-functional teams in the room

Sales, presales, delivery and finance contributors learn together, which improves hand-offs on real bids.

### Training, not legal advice

The program builds bid skills. It is not legal or procurement advice, and teams should always follow tender documents and their own legal counsel.

## Tailored versions

### For government, PSU and GeM tenders

Focus on reading tender documents, eligibility and technical-commercial bids, pre-bid queries and disciplined document management.

### For IT services and consulting RFPs

Large, multi-tower responses, solution orals, global stakeholders and coordination across delivery and presales teams.

### For Middle East and international bids

Bidding for regional public and private contracts, working with local partners and adapting proposals to regional evaluation practices.

## How we measure impact

We evaluate through the ADDIE cycle. A pre- and post-program assessment on AssessAll tests bid decision-making, compliance and proposal writing. Managers review the first live bid after training against a quality checklist at 30 days. At 60 and 90 days we track indicators agreed with you, such as bid/no-bid discipline, compliance errors, shortlisting rate and win rate, and share a short impact summary.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is bid and tender management?

Bid and tender management is the process of finding, qualifying, preparing and submitting responses to formal requests from buyers, such as RFPs and government tenders. It covers the bid/no-bid decision, planning, compliance, writing, reviews, pricing inputs and debriefs. Strong bid management turns a stressful scramble into a repeatable process.

### How do you decide whether to bid on a tender?

Score each opportunity against factors such as fit with your capabilities, relationship with the buyer, competition, eligibility, profitability and risk. If the score is low, declining saves effort for bids you can win. Participants practise with a simple scoring model applied to their own recent tenders.

### What is a compliance matrix?

A compliance matrix is a table that lists every requirement in the tender or RFP and shows where and how your response addresses it, with an owner for each item. It helps teams avoid missed requirements, which can lead to disqualification, and makes reviews faster and more reliable.

### What are win themes in bid writing?

Win themes are the key messages that explain why the buyer should choose you, linking their priorities to your strengths with evidence. They appear consistently in the executive summary and throughout the response. The training shows how to develop win themes early and weave them into answers evaluators can score.

### Can AI be used to write RFP and tender responses?

AI can speed up drafting, summarising and checking, especially with a good content library. However, every response must be checked for accuracy, compliance and confidentiality, and some tenders set rules on AI use. The program teaches a practical workflow where AI drafts and people own strategy and quality.

### Is this legal or procurement compliance advice?

No. This is skills training for bid and proposal teams. It does not provide legal or procurement advice or interpret specific rules or regulations. Teams should always follow the tender document, applicable procurement rules and guidance from their legal and compliance advisers.

### Is bid and tender management training available online?

Yes. We recommend five [live virtual](https://bodhih.com/live-virtual-classes/) sessions of about two and a half hours, including a live-bid workshop. This suits teams across India and the Middle East. In-person workshops are also available, with master trainers travelling from Bengaluru to your venue or a partner venue.
