## Sample training plan: 2-day hands-on design

This two-day design teaches Agile by doing it. Teams feel the difference between plan-driven and iterative delivery in a building game, then practise Scrum accountabilities, events and artefacts on their own work. They write and split user stories from a real backlog, estimate with relative sizing, set up a Kanban board with work-in-progress limits and run a full simulated sprint with rotating roles. Each participant leaves with a 30-day plan to improve how their own team works.

80% hands-on practice · 13.5 contact hours · Cohort: 12–24 participants, ideally in teams of five or six who work together · In person · Live virtual

### Day 1: Why Agile, and Scrum in practice

Participants can explain Agile values from experience and practise Scrum roles, events and backlog skills on real work.

1. 09:30–10:15 · Build the city: plan-first versus iterate (Business game)
2. 10:15–11:00 · Values in real decisions (Concept burst)
3. 11:15–12:15 · Scrum accountabilities and events (Group challenge)
4. 12:15–13:00 · Anti-pattern clinic (Case clinic)
5. 13:45–15:00 · User stories from our backlog (Skill drill)
6. 15:15–16:15 · Refine and estimate (Hands-on lab)
7. 16:15–17:30 · Definition of Done and reflection (Reflection)

### Day 2: Flow, sprinting and applying it at work

Participants can manage flow with Kanban, run a full sprint and plan how their team will improve in the next 30 days.

1. 09:30–10:00 · The coin flow game (Energiser)
2. 10:00–11:00 · Kanban board for our real work (Build sprint)
3. 11:15–11:45 · Flow metrics and Lean waste (Hands-on lab)
4. 11:45–13:00 · Capstone sprint: planning and building (Simulation)
5. 13:45–14:45 · Capstone sprint: review and retrospective (Simulation)
6. 14:45–15:30 · Scrum, Kanban or hybrid? (Debate)
7. 15:45–16:30 · Across teams and stakeholders (Role-play)
8. 16:30–17:30 · My 30-day team improvement plan (Action planning)

Recommended: 2 days in person (09:30–17:30), or 4 × 3-hour live virtual sessions, customised to your teams' real backlog, with a 30-day retrospective check-in. A sample design: every Bodhih program is customised after a short needs analysis.

### How long is Agile and Scrum training?

The standard recommended design is two days in person, from 09:30 to 17:30, or four live virtual sessions of three hours each. A one-day foundation version is available. A 30-day retrospective check-in helps teams keep the changes they plan during the program.

### What activities are included in Agile and Scrum training?

Teams build a paper city in plan-first and iterative rounds, rewrite and split stories from their own backlog, estimate with relative sizing, design a Kanban board with WIP limits for their real work and run a full simulated sprint with review, retrospective and rotating roles.

## When to choose this

✓**Teams are starting Scrum or Kanban and need a shared foundation**✓**Agile ceremonies feel mechanical and are not improving delivery**✓**Non-IT teams want to try iterative ways of working**✓**Leaders want to understand how to support Agile teams**

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between Agile and Scrum?

Agile is a mindset and set of values and principles described in the Agile Manifesto. Scrum is a specific framework for putting Agile into practice, with defined accountabilities, events and artefacts organised around short sprints. Kanban and Lean are other ways to work in an Agile manner. The program covers all three and when to use each.

### Is Agile only for software teams?

No. Agile started in software, but its ideas of short feedback loops, visible work and continuous improvement suit many teams. Marketing, HR, operations and product teams also use Scrum or Kanban. Bodhih customises examples and simulations to the group, so non-IT participants can see how the practices fit their work.

### Does this training prepare for Scrum Master certification?

The program covers core Scrum concepts from the Scrum Guide that appear in entry-level Scrum Master certifications. It helps participants prepare by building a clear, practical understanding. Bodhih does not issue those vendor certifications or deliver their exams. Teams wanting a certification path can add exam-focused practice.

### What is Kanban and when should a team use it?

Kanban is a method for managing work by visualising it on a board, limiting work in progress and improving flow. It suits teams with continuous or unpredictable work, such as support, operations or maintenance, where fixed sprints are hard to plan. Many teams also combine Kanban practices with Scrum.

### How long does Agile and Scrum training take?

Bodhih's recommended program is two days in person, or four half-day live virtual sessions. This gives time for concepts, practice on user stories and estimation, and a full sprint simulation. Shorter awareness sessions for leaders and longer coaching support for new Scrum Masters can be added depending on your needs.
